Last weekend I assembled the cylinder head a bit by getting all the rings and retainers into place. Also, I've started to adjust the piston ring gaps, but I've only come as far as one ring... 19 more to go! Time consuming stuff...

I've blasted the engine mounts, the 7A cam cover and some various stuff... It was some weeks ago, but hey, I cant update TOO often, right?

It's been a while since I did some real tinkering, 1.5 years ago to be more precise. The last days, I've been fixing some with the cylinder head and the new bottom end. Lots of cleaning that takes lots of time, but I also managed to get the crankshaft into the block. I also took some boxes with various parts with me home, that's going to get glass blasted, and later on painted.

Got a message from Beeblebrox yesterday, saying that my cylinder head is all done. New valves, new guides, and everything else that comes with it!
It should be picked up from GTM next week...

Well, hello, it's been some time... After the last update, new pistons and some cable sleeve were orderd, which have arrived along with the other parts ordered. I also bought Kroegarn's old engine and disassembled it, to use as a base for the engine. After that, the block was re-bored, but when the balancing should be done, It was discovered that the pulley were totally worn out, so a hunt for a new one took off. After some checking around (which I wasn't in such a hurry to do...) it came to light that the stock part were no longer available for ordering, so the solution were to order a aluminium one (red anodized of course) from Maple Racing Components.
Earlier this year the balancing was done, and the bottom end returned to IMS. The only thing that I've really done so far this year, is to check what parts I need, and order them. Now it's just a matter of spare time and motivation needed to start assembling the bottom end.

Oh, I'm updating like crazy! Really often! What's happened then? Well, all the chassis components are in place, except the anti-roll bars. I've made the fuel pipes, but not clipped them into place, or cut the ends. I pushed the car outside last weekend, for the first time in 2.5 years, washed it, and pushed it back inside again =P. Also got myself a new gearbox, from a S4 BiTurbo, thanks Eldis! Fortunately Beppo got some linkage and gearbox mounts that seems to fit, so I should be able to get it to fit. Manufacturing engine mounts is another thing that has been done. A not-so-good thing is that when I took the cylinder head apart, I discoverd that it needs an overhaul. Probably needs a couple of new valves... Past week I've ordered some nice parts for the engine; rods, flywheel and a cam gear. I'll also order some pistons as soon as possible.

Since last time I haven't done that much really. I just removed the engine from the car. "Oops". The reason for that is that I'm checking that everything is as it should, and perhaps make a few changes. After all, the engine has been in the car for 5½ years now.

Went down to kalmar this weekend, the car was still there... I mounted the bushes and wishbones on the new rear subframe. Then I tried it on the car, to see that is wasn't bent like the old one, but this one lined up just fine. I was also going to get the rear diff in place, but I must have done some measuring wrong, because the mounts are way too high! Gonna get me some new, lower bushes for them. Furthermore I made the last hose for the rear part of the fuel system, and modified (smashed) the heat shielding, so that it would fit around the fuel pump and surge tank.
